Susan Rovegno named publisher of the Katy Times and Sealy News

CEDAR PARK, Texas – Susan Rovegno has been named publisher of the Katy Times in Katy, Texas and the Sealy News in Sealy, Texas. In her role, Rovegno will also manage Katy Today magazine and other Fenice Community Media managed publications in the west suburban Houston area.

The announcement was made August 24, 2020 by Fenice Community Media President Scott Coleman.

“We are very happy to have someone with Susan’s experience and connections within the Katy and western Houston suburban area,” said Coleman. “Susan’s experience includes work in virtually every area within a newspaper and modern media operation, and we believe she will be a fantastic fit for our group.”

Rovegno worked as a regional marketing manager for USA TODAY for several years, managed classified advertising at a community newspaper, spent more than a decade managing various aspects of circulation at The Arizona Republic in Phoenix, served as circulation director of suburban and metro newspapers in New York and Oregon, and returned to advertising sales and management with niche publications before becoming Vice President of Advertising at the Victoria Advocate in Texas. Rovegno later worked as sales director for Houston Community Newspapers and then general manager for the Katy edition of Community Impact.

The Katy Times was acquired by Katy Media Publishing, LLC in August, 2019 and is managed by Fenice Community Media. The Katy Times has published continually for more than 100 years, starting out as The Brookshire Times before eventually moving to Katy in the 1950s. After several name changes, the paper formally became the Katy Times in 1984. The Sealy News has been published in Austin County since 1887.

Fenice Community Media publishes four community weekly newspapers, two suburban weekly newspapers, eight web sites and a host of other print and digital publications across Texas.
