CEDAR PARK, Texas – Scott Coleman has been named President and Chief Operating Officer of Fenice Community Media. The announcement was made on Friday, April 5 at the company’s annual staff meeting by Chairwoman and CEO Brandi Chionsini.
“Scott has done a lot in the past year to improve the overall quality of our products and our processes. He’s shored up several of our weak spots and has put us on the right path for growth,” Chionsini said. “He’s been doing the job for a while now, so we wanted to make it official.”
Coleman will handle the day to day operations of Fenice while Chionsini will focus on long-term projects to improve the company’s overall growth and diversification plans.
“I am excited and honored to take on this role and look forward to working with our talented team to continue forging a path for community journalism through innovation and dedication to quality,” Coleman said.
Beginning as a youth carrier for his hometown newspaper in Auburn, Alabama, Coleman began working full-time in the industry in 1991. Since then, he has worked in nearly every job function at papers ranging from small community dailies and weeklies to a metropolitan daily paper. He also spent a number of years as co-founder and owner of a human resources outsourcing service. Coleman is also an award-winning photographer whose sports, news and entertainment photos have appeared in newspapers and magazines around the world.
In addition to his role as President and COO of Fenice Community Media, Coleman also serves as publisher of the Hill Country News, the company’s suburban property in the Austin suburb of Cedar Park, Texas.
Fenice Community Media publishes four community weekly newspapers, a suburban weekly newspaper, six web sites and a host of other print and digital publications across Texas.
